Welcome to Smooth Moves. By booking our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure a clear understanding of our policies and procedures.
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total fee is required at the time of booking to secure the move date. This deposit confirms your reservation and is applied toward the total cost of service.
Final Payment: The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days prior to the move date if paid online via the client portal, or upon the team's arrival on the day of the event if paid in cash. Failure to make the final payment as specified may result in the cancellation of services and forfeiture of any payments made.
Alterations: Any changes to the move date, time, or location must be requested in writing at least 30 days before the original event date. Changes are subject to availability and may require a new service contract. If an alternative date is unavailable, the deposit and any payments made may be forfeited.
Cancellations: Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the event will incur a cancellation fee equal to 30% of the total fee. Cancellations made 14-30 days prior will incur a fee of 75% of the total fee. Cancellations within 14 days of the event will result in a charge of 100% of the total fee.
Accurate Information: Clients are responsible for providing accurate and detailed information regarding the items to be moved, including any special handling requirements, access restrictions, or potential obstacles (e.g., narrow hallways, stairs, elevators). Failure to disclose such information may result in additional charges or delays.
Preparation for Move: Clients must ensure that all items are properly packed and ready for transport unless packing services have been arranged. It is the client's responsibility to secure fragile items, valuables, and personal belongings. Additionally, clients should ensure clear access to the property for the moving team, including parking arrangements if necessary.
Use of Company Equipment: Smooth Moves Atlanta will provide all necessary equipment for the safe and efficient handling of your items, including but not limited to dollies, moving blankets, straps, and tools. All equipment remains the property of Smooth Moves Atlanta and must be used exclusively by our trained staff during the move.
Liability for Equipment Damage: Clients are responsible for ensuring a safe environment for the use of moving equipment. Any damage to company equipment caused by client negligence, interference, or misuse may result in additional charges to cover repair or replacement costs.
Limited Liability for Damages: Smooth Moves Atlanta takes every precaution to handle your belongings with care. However, in the event of accidental damage, our liability is limited to the actual value of the damaged item, not exceeding the coverage outlined in your service agreement. We are not liable for pre-existing damages, normal wear and tear, or items packed by the client without proper protection.
Insurance: Smooth Moves carries appropriate liability insurance coverage. However, the client is advised to have their own insurance policies in place for the event.
Force Majeure:
Smooth Moves Atlanta shall not be held liable for any delays, damages, or failure to perform services due to events beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, severe weather, acts of God, pandemics, government restrictions, labor disputes, accidents, or any other unforeseen circumstances that make it impossible or impractical to fulfill our obligations. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to resume services as soon as possible.
Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia. Any disputes arising from or related to our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the state of Georgia, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
